The Orchestras

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA 

The flagship ensemble of the organization, Symphony Orchestra offers a full orchestra experience to advanced string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players. The ensemble regularly performs works from the standard orchestral repertoire while embracing contemporary music and more and is open to all students up to age 22 by audition. 


Rehearsals for Symphony Orchestra are Sundays, 2-4 p.m. held at UT Tyler in the Fine and Performing Arts Center (FAC), in the orchestra rehearsal hall. Click here for a campus map and location.


PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

The Philharmonic Orchestra is a string orchestra experience that provides intermediate students the challenges to prepare for advancement into Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble accepts students studying all string instruments. The focus is on developing instrumental technique, refined ensemble playing, and different musical styles. Open to middle age students, typically 6-9 grade, by audition.
